Defining Style: Indulge from head to toe in re-emerging chocolate trend

Chocolate is an all-time favorite indulgence many of us can’t resist.
Chocolate brown heels, pants and jackets are another set of treats that are making mouths water for more and more sweetness with every bite. The color chocolate was a trend that had been reviving itself for a long time now. Celebrating anything that has to do with chocolate is always a good thing.
Venezuelan-born fashion designer Carolina Herrera added a bit of brown to her fall collection by sending model Coco Rocha down the runway in a pair of brown velvet pants. Donna Karan never fails to recreate a trend, and this season it was a mixture of the classiness of the 1940s and Diane von Furstenberg’s signature wrap pieces. Her sexy knee-length chocolate brown coat is so beautiful it makes me want to rip into a half-pound Hershey’s bar!
Another designer that never disappoints its clientele is Burberry. The historic British label had all the trends covered in its fall 2008 collection. With blazers being a big trend at the moment, Burberry brought out the big guns and introduced an oversize brown blazer. The most exciting piece from the collection had to be the quintessential, straight-leg brown pant in a shiny chocolate brown.
Just because we are not all 5’11’’ doesn’t mean we can’t break off a piece of dark chocolate and add it to our wardrobes. Gap has a new line of dress pants and the newest brown curvies are the pair that will make you melt. The curvy flare dress pants are a great pair of pants for someone who prefers to lay low at work or for a girl who is sick of always wearing black to work all the time. Even I must admit that wearing the same old black pieces are a bit drab, so the $54.50 relaxed deep chocolate pant certainly will breathe new life into a dull work day.
If you’re not the kind of woman who often steps out in brown, it can be rather hard to start suddenly, believe me I know. But that’s why trying a new accessory or something subtle but still flattering is a good way to start.

Which model did you love in 2008? (We heart Coco!)

We don't usually like picking favourites, but when it came to models in 2008, it's hard to look past the fun-loving Canadian chameleon Coco Rocha. Since she Irish jig-ged her way onto the fashion scene last year, our love for her here at Catwalk Queen has only grown as she kept it real throughout the year with behind-the-scenes vids on Style.com and dyed her hair a vivid shade of red.
But we're not the types to kick up a stink if you don't agree with us... so we want to know, who would be your model of 2008? Agy? Jourdan Dunn? Daisy Lowe? Leave me a comment below and let me know!

Coco Rocha - Our New Model Crush

Crazy for Coco
During the 90s, supermodels like Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell were major celebrities. Then they started having kids and hitting people. Times change.
But now it would seem there's a bit of a supermodel revival. That's right, the Ukranian dead-eyed anorexics might be on their way out!
Case in point: Canadian model Coco Rocha. The 20 year-old, (now) red-head has walked the runway for everyone from Chanel to Versace and counts photographer Steven Meisel as a best friend. Even Anna Wintour loves her.
What's up next for this beauty? She's appearing in the H&M Spring catalogue and will undoubtedly hit the runway next month for fashion week.
You better watch your back, Agyness.

Coco Rocha headed Down Under for the holidays

My eyes are already peeled for the arrival of one Coco Rocha for the holiday season.
The Canadian superstar is following in the footsteps of her fellow models
Gemma Ward, who recently backpacked through Nepal, by confessing to a trip of her own.
Rocha has revealed
WWD that she plans to spend a couple of months Down Under.
"I don't really celebrate Christmas," she said at Friday's New York Botanical Garden Winter Wonderland Ball. "I'm going to Australia for two months where no one can find me. And I'm going to spend money on myself."
Perhaps it was a bad move to admit this, especially if she wishes to remain incognito. Regardless, I promise to report back any Coco sightings!

COCO ROCHA IMMORTALIZED

Canadian model Coco Rocha has been immortalized with two Rootstein Mannequins and the honor was celebrated at a cocktail event at the Rootstein Gallery on the night of Thursday, December the 11th.
Rocha was on hand looking sleek in a Rootstein white tuxedo jacket, Proenza Schouler wide-leg pants, an American Apparel tank, and an H&M beaded flower brooch. The model was also showing-off her newly red hair which WWD is reporting was recently colored by Louis Licari for a January Vogue shoot.
The model said her new color reminds her of the strawberry blonde locks from her childhood, saying “I look like my mom’s daughter.” She continues by citing the mannequin experience as the highest accomplishment she has achieved thus far adding that “it’s a little strange to see all these people here. I would rather be sitting home, watching TV.”
Other models honored with their very own Rootstein Mannequins include Twiggy, Pat Cleveland, and Agyness Deyn.
